Another good site that would go with the Noah's Ark printables I gave you the other day. This is great for older kids to engage in.
I am just someone who lives one day at a time. This is a blog of just one who has problems, concerns, and issues just like everyone else and are sharing them with anyone who is interested.

I love free stuff, especially when it comes to schooling. These printables help us to get off the beaten path for a day or 2 to do something different and fun. My main goal is to get my kids to love to learn, which is hard to do as they have already been in the school system and have learned to HATE it. But I am determined to change that.

I Love Books

Pilgrim Theology: Core Doctrines for Christian Disciples
Save $27.00 at Amazon now. Pilgrim Theology: Core Doctrines for Christian Disciples
The 2011 award-winning publication The Christian Faith garnered wide praise as a thorough, well-informed treatment of the philosophical foundations of Christian theology, the classical elements of systematic theology, and exegesis of relevant biblical texts. Pilgrim Theology distills the distinctive benefits of this approach into a more accessible introduction designed for classroom and group study.
In this book, Michael Horton guides readers through a preliminary exploration of Christian theology in ‘a Reformed key.’ Horton reviews the biblical passages that give rise to a particular doctrine in addition to surveying past and present interpretations. Also included are sidebars showing the key distinctions readers need to grasp on a particular subject, helpful charts and tables illuminating exegetical and historical topics, and questions at the end of each chapter for individual, classroom, and small group reflection.
Pilgrim Theology will help undergraduate students of theology and educated laypersons gain an understanding of the Christian tradition’s biblical and historical foundations.

Called Home: Finding Joy In Letting God Lead Your Homeschool
Another book I found that looks very interesting, is for us homeschool mom's called Called Home: Finding Joy In Letting God Lead Your Homeschool . Wow. I would love to know exactly what that would look like. To have God lead our schooling. I already put him in the limelight and I ask for his guidance every day, but I believe the more knowledge in letting God into every aspect of you life, is truly something to strive for.
Get it here for 99¢ . Called Home
"Ultimately, we can have freedom and joy in our home schools once we let go and let God lead…"
Now that sounds pretty powerful.
Have a blessed evening.
More Free copy work, Worksheets, and One Great Book
I love the internet, and I love finding great deals to use while schooling, and I love good deals, especially on books. I have downloaded so many free books and some "cheap" books that I think I have enough to last my lifetime. But I had to download this one, as this one will be a good one to read to my kids during our bible time in the morning (or if in the middle of the day they have some of those questions). I just hate saying, well honey, I don't know. I am excited on this one and will incorporate it into my bible time today. I will let you know how it goes.
Jake did the C.S. Lewis Copywork. I don't think he fully understood them, but he got the copy part down pat.
I haven't used the Bible Worksheets yet, but we are only in Genesis. But actually, that might be a good time to start. Ok then, I just talked myself into it :)

And here is one more book. This sounds very interesting. I would love to know some of these answers:
Did Adam have a belly button? and so much more. Only for $2.51 at Amazon.
From Amazon:
Among the greatest topics of conversation – and obstacles for spiritual seekers – are those “hard-to-answer” questions relating to the Bible. Things like:*Where did Cain get his wife?*
*How did Noah fit all the animals into the ark?*
*Why can’t the Bible and evolution agree?*
*Where was the Garden of Eden?*
*Do women have one more rib than men?*
And yes, if Adam and Eve really existed as Genesis tells us, and they had no parents…did they have bellybuttons?
Actually, it’s a good question, and one that deserves discussion, for people all over the world today are searching for the answers to life’s questions. We wonder about our origins, purpose, and destiny. Now, thanks to the efforts of Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis, over 100 questions people have about the Bible have been answered in this book. The brief-but-insightful questions are followed on each page by a concise answer taken straight from a plain reading of the Bible. This unique format make the perfect gift for a friend grappling with questions we assumed didn’t have answers!
Have a blessed day everyone. Peace Out Yo**

Some Free stuff and Death By Pumpkin
I have been going through the book of Genesis with my kids and instead of just reading the story I wanted to use some visuals and fun crafty things with my kids to help them get to know the story of Noah and his ark. Most people know the story, but you can use this as sort of a unit study type thing. This site I found great printables - for free.
Noah's Ark printables preschool fun
I also came across this from Bible Based Homeschooling website, which I love. Lots of discount stuff regarding bible based stuff. This one sounded interesting. I have not yet read it, but thought I would share.
10 People Every Chrisitan Should Know. Free from kindle ebook.
This week I have been running around like crazy. Soccer, scouts, awana, bible studies, cooking for church bake off - which I got 2nd place thank you very much. So I am going to share that recipe with you guys today. Don't you feel lucky.
I called it Death by Pumpkin. I don't remember what the original name was, but I thought the name fit.
Well here it is:
Ingredients:
1 package (14-1/2 oz) gingerbread cake mix
1-1/4 C water
1 egg
4 C cold fat-free milk (I used 2% milk)
4 packages (1 oz each) sugar-free instant butterscotch pudding mix (I did not use sugar free)
1 can (15 oz) solid-pack pumpkin
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp each ground ginger, nutmeg, and allspice
1 carton (12 oz) reduced-fat frozen whipped topping, thawed (I used original)
Directions:
Follow gingerbread cake mix. It said to just poor mix into pan, water, and the egg. I mixed in the pan I was using to cook in- ungreased 8-in square baking pan. Back at 350ยบ for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to wire rack. Crumble cake. Set aside 1/4 C crumbs for garnish.
Whisk milk and pudding mixes for 2 minutes or until slightly thickened. Let stand for 2 minutes or until soft set. Stir in pumpkin and spices; mix well.
In a trifle bowl or 3-1/2 qt glass serving bowl, layer a 1/4 of the cake crumbs and 1/2 of the pumpkin mixture, a 1/4 of the cake crumbs and then 1/2 of the whipped topping. Repeat layers. Garnish with remaining reserved cake crumbs. Serve immediately or refrigerate.
Again, this won
and I never win anything. I was so excited.
Thank you everyone for loving my recipe. I also met new and wonderful people, and got to know old acquaintances even better. What a fabulous Harvest Party at my church. Love you all.
Peace out Yo!!!!! Love be with you
